I am enthusiastic, experienced and friendly teacher with a love for English. I have been teaching English Language and Literature for 10 years starting in a secondary school. Since then, I have moved towards teaching post-16 learners in a OFSTED Outstanding college (awarded in 2024) where I am the Programme Area Leader for Pre-advanced English.

Tutoring Experience

I have experience teaching towards WJEC, Eduqas and AQA exam boards and am an examiner for the AQA English Language GCSE. I work with learners of all abilities and help them make the progress they need in order to achieve their goals. I am comfortable with a range of teaching strategies and am able to easily find and plug any gaps in knowledge to ensure success.

Tutoring Approach

I believe that every learner is different and deliver bespoke content and support at a pace that suits you. All tasks within a session are made by me and tailored towards the needs of the individual. I am comfortable with learners who require support building confidence with English as well as with those who are looking to achieve a specific goal or grade at a higher level. I believe in making English accessible and engaging while staying clearly focused on exam skills and strategies using my knowledge as an experienced teacher and examiner.
