I am an Engineering graduate with a strong background in STEM subjects. I have a genuine passion for teaching and enjoy helping students build both their knowledge and confidence. Having recently completed my own studies, I understand the challenges and pressures that come with exams and coursework, and I aim to create a supportive learning environment to ease that stress.

My approach is calm, patient, and encouraging—I believe that learning should not only be effective, but also enjoyable. I strive to show my students how exciting and rewarding subjects like Maths and Science can be, helping them to see these topics in a new light.

Tutoring Experience

During secondary school and college, I regularly helped my peers with Maths. This gave me valuable experience in adapting my explanations to suit different learning styles, as I quickly realised that no two students learn in the same way. From this, I developed the ability to tailor my teaching approach to each individual, ensuring they feel supported and confident while learning.

As an Engineering graduate, I have built strong problem-solving and analytical skills, which I bring into my teaching. My studies required me to break down complex concepts into manageable steps, something I now use when explaining difficult topics to students. I also developed clear communication skills through group projects and presentations, which help me explain ideas in a way that is both simple and engaging.

Tutoring Approach

When teaching, I create a calm and relaxed environment where students can feel confident and supported. My aim is to reduce stress rather than add to it, helping students approach their studies with a positive mindset.

Before each lesson, I ask students (or parents) to share the specific areas they’d like to focus on so I can prepare tailored resources in advance. I make use of targeted practice questions, as these are one of the most effective ways to succeed at GCSE level. Exam-style questions often follow familiar structures, and by practising them, students develop a clear framework to tackle both familiar and unfamiliar problems with confidence.

For broader concepts, I break down topics into their simplest steps, ensuring students fully understand the foundations before moving to more complex ideas. I also encourage curiosity beyond the curriculum—discussing interesting scientific ideas and real-world applications—because I believe that true success comes not only from achieving good grades but also from enjoying the subject and finding it genuinely fascinating.
