Owen

I’m Owen, I’m 34 years old and a qualified teacher and language tutor currently based in Cardiff. I completed my French degree in 2013 and have spent time studying and working in France. I am also a fluent Welsh speaker and teach both languages online from secondary school age students to adult beginners.

Tutoring Experience

I have 5 years experience in teaching and tutoring French and can cover the WJEC, AQA, Edexcel and IGCSE exam boards as required. As of 2024 I have been providing 1:1 and group tuition online.

Tutoring Approach

I use a range of resources designed to develop the four language skills. I tailor my lessons to the needs of the student, for example, lessons may be focused on a particular topic of vocabulary or a grammar point they're struggling with. I also like to use language learning websites and interactive quizzes in order to aid and test student learning in an engaging way. If your goal is to achieve a good grade in your exams, I can use past papers in order to practice and explain important exam techniques.
For adults, I use coursebooks to teach language patterns in a structured, step by step manner. My lessons cover everyday topics and can be tailored for parents or work purposes.
