I am a qualified mathematics teacher with a first class bachelors degree in Mathematics from the University of Edinburgh. I have taught mathematics to students from 11-19 years of age with experience teaching A level maths and Core maths. When I started tutoring at age 17 I saw my pupils rise in grades and loved that I helped them do reach their potential.
I have a Postgraduate Dipolma in Education with Qualified Teacher Status from the University of Sheffield. I have taught pupils aged 11-19.In my own GCSEs I obtained 99% in mathematics and an A* with distinction in further mathematics. I have 4A*s at A-level in mathematics, further mathematics, physics and chemistry, which I obtained in 2019 so I am up to date with the new specification.
I like to understand each student’s thought
process and address any misconceptions head on. I prefer not only the method of answering a maths question, but why you do the method, as I find that makes it easier to remember. I also can give exam tips to maximise your grade.
For GCSE, I am happy to tutor foundation or higher tier, with any exam board.
For A level Further Maths, I am comfortable tutoring Pearson Edexcel Core Pure, FS1 and FM1.
At university level, I can help with pure mathematics, understanding first year proofs, and probability.
I also can help pupils with UKMT maths challenge questions. A typical lesson depends on the student. If you have a topic you want me to help you with, you can tell me beforehand. If you want to practice exam questions, we can go through an exam paper and I can help you on questions you struggle with.
