I am an experienced AQA English Language examiner and Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ A Level and GCSE English teacher. As former Head of the English Department at Greenhead College, Huddersfield, I have extensive experience in helping students, with a range of abilities, acheive success.
I provide both in person and online support (through Teams) to students across the country. Fast track one-year A Level and GCSE English Language courses are also available for students on alternative learning pathways.
Tutoring Experience
I have taught English for 20 years and currently teach A Level English Language and A Level Combined English, in addition to GCSE English Language and English Literature.
My subject specialism is English Language, securing a 95% A* to B A Level English pass rate for students this year.
Tutoring Approach
Unlike many tutors, I set and assess small homework tasks, so that you can use my constructive feedback to improve your analysis of texts and develop your creative writing skills. This way you can monitor your own steady progress. We will also be working with past papers, mark schemes and model answers, so that you can develop confidence and excel on the big day!
