I am a 56-year-old male, specialising in teaching History up to A level standard. I have an Honours Degree from the University of Sheffield in these subjects and subsequently studied successfully for a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at Master's level.

I thoroughly enjoy teaching and trust that I am able to communicate my own love of the subject to my students. I have experience in both classroom-based and private tuition.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching Modern History at York College for the last two years.
In addition, I have taught A-level & GCSE History as a private tutor in the Yorkshire area.

Tutoring Approach

I am student-centred in my teaching and will always establish how the student wants to learn,identifying any difficulties hat they have experienced in the past and trying together to overcome these.
I am relaxed and informal, although never to the the extent that either I or my students forget that we have specific leaning objectives in mind.
