Hi! My name is Chinaza, and I am a 2nd year English Literature student at Warwick University, aspiring to go into journalism! I love reading, writing, and music. I cannot wait to be your tutor and help you get that top grade!

Tutoring Experience

I have been in academic circles for a while. I tutored for a small group of children in primary school (when I was also in primary school), focusing my teaching efforts on creative writing education, spelling, and comprehension tasks, as well as grammar (120 marks on SATs). Then I was a student ambassador for English Literature during Sixth Form, where I taught KS3 to enrich their English Literature skills by reading and engaging in creative tasks. The class grew from 5 to 30-35, of enthusiastic students wanting to keep learning. I ran and led numerous study classes amongst my peers in 6th form, where we analysed literature, poems, and essays. This further aided our A* efforts. I was a part of an initiative with my school to lead study groups for GCSE students. I taught two pupils English Literature, to help enrich their analytical skills and exam strategy.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching approach is honest and no-nonsense. I will dissect the exam questions: how the exam boards want you to answer them, how to style your answer, focus on key words to put in answers. Then, I’ll focus on content: what you need to know and how you need to know it, answers that take your grade from a mid-level one to a high one, and any ‘beyond’ answers (extra information, AO5, etc). I’ll focus on staying calm during exams, how to approach a question blindly, and working through examples with your student. I’ll teach the content the way I was taught it, in a method that is easily digestible and not too scary!
