Hi, I'm Caitlin – a qualified and experienced secondary maths teacher, with experience leading KS3 Mathematics in school. I hold a degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Liverpool and completed my PGCE at Edge Hill University.
I launched Tip Top Tutoring to support students of all ages in building confidence and achieving success in maths – from SATs right through to GCSEs. I offer personalised tuition that’s friendly, focused, and tailored to each learner's individual needs.
Whether your child is preparing for their Year 6 SATs or working towards their GCSEs, I can provide the guidance and support they need to feel confident and ready.
For the past 5 years, I’ve been teaching maths in a local secondary school, working with both KS3 and KS4 students. I also have experience leading KS3 Mathematics, focusing on building strong foundations and helping students thrive in the early years of secondary maths.
My tutoring journey actually began while I was at university, working with The Tutor Trust. This early experience gave me a real passion for one-to-one and small group support, which inspired me to complete my PGCE and qualify as a teacher.
I’m dedicated, approachable, and always ready to go the extra mile. With my very first Year 11 class, I stayed behind after school nearly every night to help them succeed – and it paid off! Many of those students improved by 1 or 2 whole grades, with several achieving a Grade 4 or 5, well above their original targets.
I specialise in Foundation GCSE Maths and currently work as an exam marker for Edexcel, so I know exactly what examiners are looking for – and how to help students succeed with confidence!
At Tip Top Tutoring, my sessions are structured to build both confidence and competence through a clear, supportive approach:
