Qualifications:
• MSc in Molecular Neuroscience from the University of Bristol.
• Presently an Assistant Educational Psychologist and will be training on UCL’s Educational and Child Psychology Doctorate from September.
I have extensive experience delivering lessons (1:1 and in small groups), conducting cognitive, psychometric, and educational assessments, and providing therapeutic interventions (including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, CBT) to support students with diverse needs. I also work closely with teachers and parents, offering guidance on managing behaviour, improving engagement, and addressing learning difficulties to ensure they have the tools to foster meaningful progress in their children.
I am deeply passionate about teaching STEM in the early years and have contributed to published research focused on strengthening mathematical foundations in toddlers.
Experience Supporting SEN/SEMH:
My diverse background in education and mental health equips me with a holistic toolkit to support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. My roles have included:
• Assistant Educational Psychologist at a Local Authority, supporting the development and implementation of EHCPs
• Assistant SENCo in a mainstream secondary school and sixth form
• Assistant Psychologist in the NHS (Neurodevelopmental Disorders Department) and private practice
• Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) Tutor
I have supported children with ADHD, Autism, Global Developmental Delay, Anxiety Disorders, and more, across all subjects, consistently delivering outcomes that exceed expectations. I believe that every child can learn; the key is teaching them in a way that aligns with how they learn.
My teaching is entirely individualised, tailored to each learner’s unique profile. Key elements of my approach include:
• Collecting learner data during the first half of the initial session
• Conducting discussions with parents prior to starting tuition to better understand the learner
• Using a cross-disciplinary approach to enhance understanding and retention
• Building number sense and developing mathematical vocabulary
• Employing person-centred scaffolding and differentiation where necessary
• Addressing emotional barriers such as low resilience or motivation that may hinder learning
