I’m 18 years old and have just finished sixth form, where I achieved top grades in both Biology and Geography at A level. This autumn, I’ll be starting a four-year master’s degree in Cancer Sciences at the University of Nottingham, as I hope to build a career in clinical research.
Biology has always been a real passion of mine, and over time I’ve developed my own techniques that helped me succeed in both Biology and Geography. I’d love the opportunity to share what I’ve learned with other students, helping them grow in confidence and hopefully sparking the same enthusiasm for these subjects that I’ve always had. My main ethos is ensuring students go into their exams with the most confidence possible, as confidence is key and will reduce stress and room for silly errors.

Tutoring Experience

I started tutoring students in Year 12 where I helped a year 11 student go from a 5 and a 6 in Geography and Biology respectively to a 9 and an 8 (both equivalent to A*’s) in old money. I took a break until the end of my A levels in order to fully focus on my studies. I now have 2 A level Geography students, both of whom are impressively improving every week.

Tutoring Approach

I like to focus on exam-style questions and, most importantly, how to answer them in a way that secures full marks. In my lessons, I’ll spend around 45 minutes going through the topic in detail, followed by at least 15 minutes working through exam questions together. During this time, I’ll explain exam techniques and go through model answers to show exactly what examiners are looking for.

I also believe that confidence is key to success. By tailoring lessons to each student’s strengths and areas for improvement, I aim to not only improve knowledge and exam technique but also help students feel genuinely confident in the subject. This confidence makes a huge difference when approaching exams, as it allows students to perform at their very best.
