Adam

Maths and Physics Teacher in Cheltenham

I am a qualified teacher of Maths and Science, specialising in Physics, with over 20 years of classroom teaching and personal tutoring experience. I have taught Science and Maths across the curriculum up to GCSE level, and Physics up to A-level, consistently achieving excellent results.

I believe that students make the best progress when they are appropriately challenged. Tutoring provides a unique opportunity to tailor learning to each individual, helping them find the approach that works best for them. For me, the most rewarding part of teaching is seeing a student make meaningful progress and grow in confidence.

Tutoring Experience

I have over two decades of experience as a classroom teacher, having taught in a variety of schools. Alongside my teaching career, I have worked as a personal tutor for many years, supporting students across a wide range of abilities — all of whom have made excellent progress once we began working together.

In school, I have held a number of leadership roles. Most relevant here is my work on increasing student engagement, which involved developing strategies to inspire students to meet ambitious, personalised targets. As is often the case, approaches that work for one student can benefit many others. Over time, I’ve become skilled at identifying and delivering enriching experiences that go beyond the standard curriculum to engage and motivate learners.

In my experience, helping students achieve their best starts with understanding how they learn. I draw on a wide range of strategies to quickly identify areas of difficulty and provide tailored support to help each student move forward with confidence.

Tutoring Approach

I aim to provide a bespoke program tailored to each student’s specific challenges. Whether supporting current school lessons in Science or Maths or creating a custom plan, I can help with:

Revisiting topics your son or daughter has found difficult,

Tackling the most challenging questions to target higher grades,

Reinforcing foundational skills to ensure a solid understanding.

In short, I strive to offer the kind of support that best meets each student’s individual needs. All in-person tutoring is complemented by a set of online resources I’ve developed. If you subscribe to these resources, I offer a discount on in-person lessons. These materials reinforce what we cover in sessions, assist with schoolwork, and support homework tasks.

My goal is to provide assistance that is as comprehensive and holistic as possible to help students succeed.
